The five Martyrs (Arabic: الشهداء الخمسة) were five ulama of Shi'i Islam, living in different spans of history, who were executed by their respective Sunni regimes. The Shia remember them by the term Five Martyrs.Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Hussain Najafi wrote a book in Urdu Shuhada-e Khamsa kay Halaat-e Zindagi ("Five Martyr's condition of life") which contains biographies of the five martyrs.
