| - The GMC Syclone is a high-performance version of the GMC Sonoma pickup truck. Produced in 1991 by GMC along with Production Automotive Services (PAS) - the same company credited with building the famed 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am, the GMC Syclone was the quickest production truck to be produced in 1991. Following the Syclone's production, the similarly powered 1992-1993 GMC Typhoon SUV was based on the GMC Jimmy platform. Also following the Syclone, the 1992 GMC Sonoma GT truck was offered as a sport package with the looks of a Syclone but without the price and performance of its turbocharged predecessor. Only 806 Sonoma GTs were produced. (en)

- Der GMC Syclone war eine Hochleistungsversion des Pick-ups GMC Sonoma. Er wurde in den Modelljahren 1991 und 1992 hergestellt und brachte 1992 den gleich motorisierten GMC Typhoon auf Basis des Jimmy hervor. Es gab noch eine andere Hochleistungsversion, den Sonoma GT. Dieser bot weniger Motorleistung, galt aber als Schwestermodell. Es gab 1991 zwei privat hergestellte Sondermodelle: Syclone, Typhoon und Sonoma GT wurden von Production Automotive Services in Troy (Michigan) für GM gebaut und über deren Händlernetz verkauft.

- A GMC Syclone foi desenvolvida por uma empresa coligada à GM chamada PAS (Production Automotive Services). Ela utilizou a plataforma da GMC Sonoma (S-15) da época (1991) com motor V6 "short block", turbinado (pressão máx. de 14 lbs/pol ou +/- 0,7 kg), intercooler ar-água, câmbio automático do Corvete ZR 1 modificado, e tração nas quatro rodas ("emprestada" da GMC Bravada). Sua potência divulgada era de 280bhp(284cv) com 350 lb-ft de torque, embora fontes bastante confiáveis tenham medido sua potência posteriormente em aproximadamente 300bhp(304cv). Ela fazia de 0 a 96 km/h em 4,7 segundos e cumpria o 1/4 de milha (402 metros) em 13,5 s. Sua velocidade máxima era limitada a 203 km/h.
