Gabriel Deville (8 March 1854 – 28 February 1940) was a French socialist theoretician, politician and diplomat. He was a follower of the Guesdist movement in the 1880s, and did much to raise awareness of Karl Marx's theories of the weaknesses of capitalism through his books and articles.Later, without abandoning his beliefs, he became more pragmatic and was twice a deputy in the National Assembly. After leaving office he accepted various diplomatic positions.

  • Gabriel Deville est un homme politique français né le 8 mai 1854 à Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées) et décédé le 28 février 1940 à Viroflay (Seine-et-Oise). Petit-fils de Jean-Marie-Joseph Deville, il devient, après des études de droit, journaliste à L’Égalité, le journal de Jules Guesde. Il est l'auteur de nombreux essais politiques grâce auxquels il fait figure de théoricien du socialisme. La Xe chambre correctionnelle le jugea, ainsi que Jules Guesde, Marie Manière et Marie Bonnevial, pour association non autorisée dans l'organisation d'un congrès ouvrier international prévu le 5 septembre 1878 à Paris.
