Genovevo de la O (January 3, 1876 – June 12, 1952) was an important figure in the Mexican Revolution in Morelos. He was born in Santa María Ahuacatitlán, Morelos, to sharecropper parents. He was dedicated to the plight of Mexico's peasants and came to be an outstanding Liberation Army of the South guerrilla general. After Emiliano Zapata's death, he and the other guerrillas threw their lot in with Álvaro Obregón and went on to become a minor but long-lasting figure in national politics.

Nació en el pueblo de Santa María Ahuacatitlán, Estado de Morelos, México, siendo hijo de Reyes de la O y de Isaura Jiménez. Dedicó buena parte de su vida a proteger y ayudar a los peones de las haciendas y los comuneros mexicanos. Como militar, a lado de Emiliano Zapata logró fama. Más adelante, se alió con Álvaro Obregón convirtiéndose en una figura venerada de la política mexicana. (ca) Genovevo de la O Jiménez was een Mexicaans militair, revolutionair en politicus. De la O was geboren als zoon van landarbeiders uit de staat Morelos. Hij verzette zich tegen hacendados uit zijn regio die poogden grond in te pikken, waardoor hij automatisch tegenstander werd van president Porfirio Díaz. Bij het uitbreken van de Mexicaanse Revolutie sloot hij zich aan bij Emiliano Zapata, en was een van de ondertekenaars van diens Plan van Ayala in 1911. (nl)
