Gladys Afamado (born 24 May 1925) is a Uruguayan visual artist, engraver, and poet. A member of the Montevideo Engraving Club since 1954, she has contributed to many of its monthly editions and almanacs. She later ventured into different plastic artforms, and in recent years has been recognized for her work in digital art.

Mai 1925 in Montevideo, Uruguay) ist eine uruguayische Künstlerin und Schriftstellerin. Afamado ist Absolventin der . Dort war sie Schülerin und . Töpfern erlernte sie 1954 bis 1955 im Rahmen eines kommerziellen Workshops und belegte 1960 einen diesbezüglichen Kurs bei . Im Siebdruck wurde sie 1975 bei unterrichtet. Nach einem von 1981 bis 1982 währenden Studium der Semiotik bei ging sie 1984 mit einem im Rahmen eines Wettbewerbes erlangten Stipendiums nach Spanien und besuchte einen Büttenpapierkurs in Capellades. 1965 bis 1985 war sie als Grafikerin des montevideanischen tätig.
