Das Projekt existierte vom 9. Juli 2008 bis zum 31. Dezember 2008. Nähere Gründe für die relativ schnelle Beendigung wurden nicht genannt. - Google Lively était un monde virtuel en 3D de Google, similaire à Second Life. Chaque internaute pouvait y créer un avatar et une pièce (ou un terrain) personnalisable qui pouvait accueillir jusqu'à vingt personnes simultanément. Au contraire de Second Life, il n'y avait pas de contenu généré par les utilisateurs (UGC), les utilisateurs de Lively étaient donc limités au catalogue existant pour meubler leur pièce, choisir leurs avatars, leurs habits, etc. Il n'était pas non plus possible de faire des transactions (achat ou vente en monnaie réelle ou virtuelle). - Lively è stata una "rete di avatar" creata nell'ambito dei progetti sviluppati da Google, sul modello di Second Life. Il progetto è nato l'8 luglio 2008 e dava la possibilità agli utenti registrati di Gmail di interagire con avatar tridimensionali. Gli utenti potevano creare bar, caffè, ambienti virtuali e interagire fra loro, incontrandosi e avendo la possibilità di chattare. Lo scarso successo dell'iniziativa non portò allo sviluppo di una versione definita e il progetto restò in versione beta fino alla chiusura il 31 dicembre 2008. (it)
- Lively – serwis należący do grupy Google, uruchomiony 8 lipca 2008, będący darmową platformą komunikacyjną przypominającą Second Life. Google zakończyło działanie serwisu 31 grudnia 2008 roku. Pozwalał użytkownikom na tworzenie własnych wirtualnych awatarów oraz lokacji. Wirtualne alter-ego w świecie Lively mogło wchodzić w liczne interakcje z awatarami pozostałych użytkowników serwisu (mogło spacerować, rozmawiać (Google Talk), tańczyć, pływać, skakać itd.) Głównym zajęciem pozostawała jednak wzajemna komunikacja. (pl)

- Lively fue un proyecto de prueba de Google que recreaba un mundo virtual vía web. Fue presentado el 8 de julio de 2008 y su estructura era similar a Second Life. Lively permitía a los internautas crear avatares de cualquier raza y su propia parcela en un mundo virtual en tres dimensiones, donde también se podían subir fotografías y vídeos accesibles vía streaming. Cada usuario podía interactuar con otros avatares, moverse libremente, mostrar su estado de ánimo con animaciones o entrar en parcelas creadas por otros usuarios, que posteriormente, podían enlazarse a foros, webs o blogs para que cualquier navegante entrase en su parcela personalizada.
