Hingot War is an age old tradition of residents of Gautampura, about 59 km from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. It is observed on dhok padwa (a day after Diwali).In this war warriors are categorised in two groups Turra of Gautampura and Kalgi of Rungi village, who attack each other with burning Hingots (a hollow fruit stuffed with gunpowder). These hingots when hurled in the sky appears to be shooting star and look beautiful in the sky. This war came into limelight when several people died and many injured in the event.
