John Boste (c. 1544 – 24 July 1594) is a saint in the Catholic Church, and one of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales.

(it) John Boste (* ca. 1544 in ; † 24. Juni 1594 in Durham) war ein römisch-katholischer Priester und Märtyrer. Er war der jüngste Sohn von Nicholas Boste und seiner Frau Janet. Er besuchte das Queens College in Oxford. Das Studium schloss er im Jahre 1572 ab. 1580 verließ Boste England und ging zusammen mit seinem Schützling an das English College in Reims. Er wurde 1581 zum Priester geweiht und zurück nach England geschickt. Dort begann er seine Mission in den nördlichen Grafschaften und Schottland. Verschiedene Versuche ihn zu fangen, schlugen fehl. (de) Jan Boste (ur. ok. 1544 w Dufton, zm. 24 lipca 1594 w Dryburn pod Durham) – święty katolicki, męczennik, ksiądz konwertyta. Pochodził z katolickiej rodziny z Westmorland. Dzięki otrzymanemu stypendium ukończył studia w królewskim kolegium w Oxfordzie w 1569 roku, a w 1572 roku uzyskał tytuł mistrza nauk wyzwolonych. Po okresie w którym pełnił funkcję protestanckiego kaznodziei nawrócił się. Podjął studia teologiczne w Douai i Reims, a po przyjęciu święceń kapłańskich 4 marca 1581 roku powrócił do Anglii. Podjął działalność duszpasterską w okolicach Durham. Uwięziono go w Londyńskim Tower w lipcu 1593 roku. Mimo tortur nie obciążył nikogo z współwyznawców. Postawiono go przed sądem w Durham wraz z nawróconym protestanckim pastorem dla którego stał się w tym okresie podporą duchową. Gdy ska (pl)
