Krystian Godfryd Deybel de Hammerau (1725–1798) was a Polish military commander and a general of artillery. He fought during the Warsaw Uprising of 1794 and commanded the artillery of Kościuszko's Uprising. Born to a family of Polonized German aristocracy of Saxon origin, Deybel joined the Royal Cadet Corps in 1740. In 1750 he was sent to Dresden, where he studied artillery tactics. Upon his return to Poland in 1753 he joined the Royal Artillery and served with distinction at various posts, rising to the rank of pułkownik.

For his actions, he was promoted to the rank of Major General on May 18, 1794. Although over 70 at that point, he remained in the Polish Army until the end of hostilities. (en)

Dzięki protekcji hetmana wielkiego koronnego Józefa Potockiego, wysłany na koszt króla Augusta III do Saksonii, gdzie pobierał nauki sztuki artyleryjskiej. Jako ochotnik wziął udział po stronie saskiej w wojnie siedmioletniej. W 1790 roku uzyskał polski indygenat. Został adiutantem gen. Eustachego Potockiego. Pułkownik, 18 maja 1794 awansowany na gen. majora, przedtem uszlachcony w r. 1786. Był już wówczas po siedemdziesiątce i do służby polowej się nie nadawał. Wykształcony, sprawny organizator, służbista i człowiek honoru. Duże doświadczenie artyleryjskie wyniósł z 54-letniej służby w armii saskiej i polskiej. Do spisku nie należał, ale wiedział o nim i nie przeszkadzał. W insurekcji warszawskiej wziął udział z własnej inicjatywy i od razu zajął się odbudową zdekompletowanego korpusu. Pochowany na cmentarzu ewangelicko-augsburskim w Warszawie (al. 6 nr 19). (pl)
