The Lohner L was a reconnaissance flying boat produced in Austria-Hungary during World War I. It was a two-bay biplane of typical configuration for the flying boats of the day, with its pusher engine mounted on struts in the interplane gap. The pilot and observer sat side by side in an open cockpit, and both the upper and lower sets of wings featured sweepback.

(en) Il Lohner L fu un idrovolante da ricognizione e bombardamento monomotore, biposto e biplano, sviluppato dall'azienda aeronautica austro-ungarica negli anni dieci del XX secolo e prodotto, oltre che dalla stessa, anche su licenza da alcune aziende nazionali. Venne impiegato dai reparti aerei della k.u.k. Kriegsmarine, la marina militare austro-ungarica, durante la prima guerra mondiale. Jednalo se v podstatě o silnější verzi letadla . Letoun byl velice úspěšný, německá firma Hansa-Brandenburg vyrobila v licenci upravenou verzi. Itálie ukořistila neporušený stroj, podle kterého začala firma Macchi vyrábět obdobný hydroplán. 15. září 1916 dva stroje tohoto typu zaskočily a potopily francouzskou ponorku Foucault (Q70), což představuje první potopení ponorky na moři leteckým útokem. (cs) Der Lohner Type L war ein als Doppeldecker ausgelegtes Flugboot der Lohner-Werke.Als Weiterentwicklung des besaß er einen stärkeren Austro-Daimler-Motor. Der Motor war auf Streben zwischen den Tragflächen angeordnet und trieb einen Druckpropeller. Bis 1916 wurde der Type L von Österreich-Ungarn als Aufklärer und Bombenflugzeug eingesetzt. Ab 1916 wurde er zunächst durch die und der Hansa-Brandenburg ergänzt und später weitestgehend ersetzt. (de)
