| - Luba Grigorovitch (born 5 June 1985) is an Australian trade unionist and politician. She represents the district of Kororoit in the Victorian Legislative Assembly. She is a member of the Labor Party and was elected in the 2022 state election, after replacing retiring MLA Marlene Kairouz. She is a former Victorian state secretary of the Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU). Grigorovitch was educated at Mount St Joseph's Girls College, before completing a double degree at Victoria University. In 2009 she was elected as a Councillor for the City of Hobson's Bay at the age of 23. She was re-elected in 2012, becoming Deputy Mayor of the City of Hobson's Bay. Grigorovitch began her career at the RTBU Victoria in 2010 as the Industrial, Campaign’s and Women’s officer. In 2011 she took on the position of elected Organiser and Women's Officer of the Union for its Administration, Salaried, Technical and Professional Division. In February 2014, she was appointed State Secretary of the RTBU at the age of 28, becoming the first female and also youngest secretary of the Union's Victorian branch. She was subsequently elected to the post in her own right in November 2014. In November 2015, Grigorovitch was elected to the national body of the Australian Council of Trade Unions Executive. In 2019, she was appointed the RTBU's National President to serve in the role until December 14, 2022, becoming the union's first female National President. During her tenure as Secretary, the Union has engaged in industrial action on Victoria's railways and tramways in pursuit of enterprise agreements with Metro Trains and Yarra Trams. This action took place in 2015. The RTBU also unsuccessfully campaigned for Victoria’s railways to be returned to full public ownership in 2017 when Metro’s franchise expired for review, however the Andrews Labor Government chose to re-award the private franchise to Metro without tender. Grigorovitch is a recipient of the ACTU's Jennie George Award, 2013 and the Victorian Trades Hall Council's Zelda D'Aprano Activist Award, 2016. On 14 December, 2021, Grigorovitch was endorsed by the Australian Labor Party’s National Executive as Labor’s candidate for the state seat of Kororoit in the upcoming November, 2022 Victorian state election. She defeated incumbent Labor Member for Kororoit and former Andrews Government Minister, Marlene Kairouz, for Labor pre-selection for the seat. She formally retired as Victorian RTBU Branch Secretary on 22 April and was succeeded as Branch Secretary by RTBU Organiser, Vik Sharma. Grigorovitch was elected as the State Member for Kororoit representing the Australian Labor Party at the 2012 Victorian state election. She is a member of the Australian Labor Party and belongs to its Industrial Left faction in Victoria. (en)
