She played with the Atlanta Dream of the Women's National Basketball Association and collegiately at Kansas State University. She has been honored numerous times, like being added to the 2005–2006 Big 12 Conference all-rookie team. Gipson is known for both her offensive and defensive skills. In the 2006 season, even though she only played in 16 games, had these statistics. 12.8 points per game, .706 free throw percentage, 8.3 rebounds per game, and 39 blocked shots.
