Michael Bochow (born 26 March 1948) is a German sociologist who has authored a number of empirical studies of German gay men with a particular focus on the impact of HIV/AIDS. After completing his schooling in Lower Saxony, Bochow moved to Berlin, where he studied sociology and political science. After earning his Ph.D., he was employed as a sociologist at the Free University.

Nach seiner Kindheit in Niedersachsen, seiner dortigen Schulausbildung und dem Abitur in der Deutschen Evangelischen Oberschule in Kairo zog Bochow 1967 nach Berlin, wo er Politikwissenschaft und Soziologie studierte. Nach seiner Promotion arbeitete er als Soziologe an der Freien Universität Berlin. Er arbeitet jetzt bei der Forschungsgruppe Public Health am Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin für Sozialforschung. (de)

| - مايكل بوخو (بالألمانية: Michael Bochow) (ولد في 26 آذار / مارس 1948) هو عالم اجتماع ألماني قام بتأليف عدد من الدراسات التجريبية الألمانية على مثليي الجنس من الرجال مع التركيز بشكل خاص على تأثير فيروس نقص المناعة البشرية/الإيدز. بعد الانتهاء من دراسته في ولاية سكسونيا السفلى، انتقل بوخو إلى برلين حيث درس علم الاجتماع و العلوم السياسية. بعد حصوله على درجة الدكتوراه، تم تعيينه كعالم اجتماع في الجامعة الحرة في برلين. بداية من عام 1987، وزع بوخو أول ما تطور إلى سلسلة من الاستبيانات المتعلقة بسلوك مثليي الجنس من الرجال، ومسح الممارسات الجنسية (سواء آمنة أوخطرة) وكذلك الوعي بفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية والإيدز والوقاية من بين الرجال الذين يمارسون الجنس مع الرجال. هذه الدراسات التي كانت تستكمل بمقابلات كانت في البداية بتكليف من دويتش إيدز هيلفه وهي المنظمة الوطنية المظلّة لأكثر من 100 وكالة محلية تقدم التعليم وتوفير الخدمات للناس المصابين بفيروس نقص المناعة البشرية و في وقت لاحق من قبل الوكالة الاتحادية للصحة والتعليم. تحقق بوخو أيضا الأقلية التركية في ألمانيا ولا سيما الرجال الذين يمارسون الجنس مع الرجال. كما قام بتأليف دراسات حول كبار السن من الرجال المثليين، وحول مثليي الجنس من الرجال الذين يعيشون خارج المدن الكبيرة، وحول مثليي الجنس من الرجال من الطبقات المنخفضة وحول الفروق الاجتماعية بين مثليي الجنس من الرجال في غرب وشرق ألمانيا. After completing his schooling in Lower Saxony, Bochow moved to Berlin, where he studied sociology and political science. After earning his Ph.D., he was employed as a sociologist at the Free University. Beginning in 1987, Bochow distributed the first of what developed into a series of questionnaires concerning the behavior of homosexual men, surveying sex practices (both safe and risky) as well as the awareness of HIV, AIDS, and prevention among men who have sex with men. These studies, which were supplemented by interviews, were initially commissioned by the Deutsche AIDS-Hilfe, the national umbrella organization of over 100 local agencies offering education and providing services to people with HIV infections, and subsequently by the federal agency for health education. Bochow has also investigated Germany's Turkish minority, particularly men who have sex with men. He has also authored studies of older gay men, of gay men who live outside of big cities, of lower-class gay men, and of social differences between gay men in western and eastern Germany. (en)
