Middle America is a colloquial term for the United States heartland, especially the culturally rural and suburban areas of the United States, typically the Lower Midwestern region of the country, which consists of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska. Certain states in the Southern United States such as Arkansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and West Virginia could also be considered part of Middle America.
