The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Indonesian: Kementerian Luar Negeri, abbreviated as Kemlu) or commonly known by its abbreviations as, is an Indonesian government ministry responsible for the country's foreign politics and diplomacy. The ministry was formerly known as the Department of Foreign Affairs (Indonesian: Departemen Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia, abbreviated as Deplu) until 2008 when the nomenclature changed with the enactment of the 2008 State Ministry Act (Undang-Undang Nomor 39 Tahun 2008 tentang Kementerian Negara).
