Madame Minna Craucher (23 August 1891 – 8 March 1932) was the false name of Maria Vilhelmiina Lindell, a Finnish socialite and spy. Her home was a noted salon for various writers and artists. She also did espionage, originally for the Cheka, the Soviet secret police, and was arrested three times for fraud. She also had connections to the right-wing Lapua Movement. She became the subject of several books and stories. In 1932 she was murdered with a shot to the head.

  • Minna Craucher, egentligen Maria Vilhelmiina Aalto, född 23 augusti 1891 i Birkala, död 8 mars 1932 i Helsingfors (mördad), var en finländsk politisk äventyrerska. Craucher var i början av 1900-talet prostituerad i Tammerfors, började begå brott och hade fram till 1923 suttit fyra gånger i fängelse för snatterier. Efter den sista frigivningen utvecklades hon till en svindlartyp av nästan internationellt snitt; det var nu hon antog namnet Minna Craucher. Efter att hon i mitten av 1920-talet hade bosatt sig i Helsingfors blev hon annonsupptagare och fick därigenom viktiga kontakter i journalist- och författarkretsar. Minna Crauchers litterära salong blev snart ett begrepp bland yngre författare, och fick låna sina lätt igenkännliga drag åt flera gestalter i epokens finska litteratur. (sv)
