In June 2014, in the city of Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine, four members of the Pentecostal church, Transfiguration of The Lord, (Ukrainian: Преображення Господнього, Russian: Преображение Господне) were taken and allegedly killed by members of the Russian Orthodox Army. The reasons for the killings are disputed. While Ukrainian officials believe the victims were killed over sending supplies and information to the Ukrainian army, church officials believed the incident was religious persecution.
