Sie war die erste uruguayische Frau, die 1908 einen Abschluss in Medizin in Uruguay erhielt. In 1909, she became the first Uruguayan woman to earn a medical degree and was a firm advocate of sex education in the schools. She represented Uruguay in international women's conferences and traveled throughout Latin America and Europe. She was also the first Latin American woman to participate in the League of Nations and became one its most influential early activists. Her work has had a lasting effect on women of the Americas. - Paulina Luisi, född 1875 i argentinska Colón (Entre Ríos), död 1945 i Montevideo, var en uruguayansk läkare och feminist. Hon blev 1909 den första kvinnliga läkaren i Uruguay. Hon arbetade även som lärare. Hon betraktas som en av de mest framträdande ur den tidigare feministiska rörelsen i Uruguay, och representerade den ofta utomlands. 1919 påbörjade hon landets organiserade kamp för kvinnlig rösträtt.
