The Prize of the Austrian Mathematical Society (German: Förderungspreis) is the highest mathematics award in Austria. It is awarded every year by the Austrian Mathematical Society to a promising young mathematician for outstanding achievements. A substantial part of the work must have been performed in Austria. The recipient receives, in addition to a monetary reward, a medal showing Rudolf Inzinger. The prize was established in 1955 and is awarded since 1956.

| - Der Förderungspreis der Österreichischen Mathematischen Gesellschaft ist der höchste österreichische Mathematikpreis. Er wird an junge Mathematiker oder Mathematikerinnen, die in überdurchschnittlichem Maße durch ihre mathematische Forschung hervorgetreten sind vergeben. Ein wesentlicher Teil der Arbeiten muss in Österreich erbracht worden sein. Der Förderungspreis wurde auf Antrag von Hans Hornich in der Vorstandssitzung 1955 eingerichtet und wird seit 1956 vergeben. Der Preis ist mit € 1.000 und einer Ehrenmedaille (die Vorderseite zeigt Rudolf Inzinger, die Rückseite erinnert an die Gründung der ÖMG) dotiert und ist mit einem Hauptvortrag beim nächsten ÖMG-Kongress verbunden.
