- I comuni (olandese ressort, plurale ressorten) o sottodistretti sono la seconda e più piccola suddivisione politica del Suriname, dopo i distretti. Il termine ressort viene spesso tradotto in "comune" sebbene l'amministrazione del Paese sia centralizzata e non ci siano vere e proprie municipalità. I sottodistretti hanno un organo rappresentativo ma non esecutivo, il ressort raad (consiglio di sottodistretto); come i consigli di distretto, vengono eletti ogni 5 anni alle elezioni nazionali. Innerhalb des Hauptstadtdistriktes Paramaribo bestehen die Ressorts vor allem aus Stadtteilen, in den anderen Distrikten aus einer größeren zusammenhängenden Fläche, aus Dörfern, Ortschaften und alten Plantagen. Durchschnittlich ist ein Ressort rund 2.600 km² groß und hat circa 8.000 Einwohner. - Les ressorts du Suriname (en néerlandais: ressort au singulier et ressorten au pluriel) constituent une division administrative et politique de la République du Suriname. Ils sont la deuxième plus grande entité territoriale du pays après les districts. Leur composition s'apparente à celle d'entités de niveau municipal, bien que ceux du district de Paramaribo, la capitale du pays, s'apparentent davantage à des quartiers. - Een ressort is een Surinaamse bestuurlijke eenheid waarin de districten zijn verdeeld. Binnen de 10 districten van Suriname bestaan in totaal 62 ressorten. Binnen het stadsdistrict Paramaribo bestaan de ressorten vooral uit wijken, elders bestaan ze (omdat Suriname geen gemeentes kent) uit een wat grotere plaats met het gebied eromheen of een aantal dorpen en vestigingsplaatsen (met name oude plantages). Gemiddeld is een ressort ruim 2600 km² groot en heeft bijna achtduizend inwoners. Hoewel alle ressorten in Paramaribo qua oppervlak klein zijn ligt het aantal inwoners per ressort daar over het algemeen fors hoger terwijl in de binnenlanden het aantal inwoners per ressort vaak weer lager ligt.
