| - Ron Tripp (born April 22, 1953) is a World Sambo and Judo champion and the current general secretary of USA Judo. He is also a member of the board of directors of the United States Olympic Committee. His name is well known in the MMA world, especially among Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission grappling enthusiasts, as he is the only person to hold an official victory in competition over Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Rickson Gracie. Tripp became America's first Merited and Distinguished Master of Sport in 1996. He was promoted to 6th dan by USA Judo in November 2006. (en)
- Ron Tripp (Battle Creek - Michigan, 22 de Abril de 1953) é um ex-judoca e lutador de Sambo estadunidense. Tripp é notório entre os amantes do vale-tudo por ter sido a única pessoa a ter derrotado Rickson Gracie em uma luta oficial, após aplicar-lhe um Uchi-mata com apenas 47 segundos de luta. A luta teria acontecido em 1993, durante o "U.S. Sambo Championships" disputado na cidade de Norman, Oklahoma. Não há relatos nem videos desta luta. O próprio Rickson, porém, confirma ter sido derrubado por Tripp, mas ele alega que as regras foram modificadas minutos antes da luta, e ninguém o avisou. (pt)
