The Society of Anubis was a semi-secret homophile society in the United States. It was relatively large for its time, with approximately 800 members in the mid-1960s and approximately 1,000 members in 1970. It had both male and female members. It was founded in 1967 and received a state charter in 1969. The society was conservative in character, and focused on social and community programs. They maintained a ten-acre ranch in the San Gabriel Valley in California, as well as a club.
