Tate McDermott (born 18 September 1998) is an Australian rugby union player who plays for the Australian national rugby union team internationally and the Reds in the Super Rugby competition. His position of choice is scrum-half. McDermott used to surf competitively but quit to focus on rugby when his childhood friend drowned at the Australian Surf Lifesaving Championships on the Gold Coast.
