| - «اليانصيب» (بالإنجليزية: The Lottery) هي قصة قصيرة كتبتها الروائية الشهيرة شيرلي جاكسون (Shirley Jackson) قبل أشهر من ظهورها الأول، في 26 يونيو 1948 م، في مجلة النيويوركر. تصف القصة بلدة صغيرة خيالية تمارس - كما تفعل العديد من المجتمعات الأخرى، سواء الكبيرة والصغيرة منها، في جميع أنحاء أمريكا المعاصرة - طقوسا سنوية تعرف باسم «اليانصيب». وقد وصفت هذه القصة بأنها «واحدة من أشهر القصص القصيرة في تاريخ الأدب الأمريكي». تلقت القصة ردود فعل سلبية واسعة إبان نشرها فاجأت كلا من جاكسون ومجلة النيويوركر حيث ألغى القراء اشتراكاتهم في المجلة وأرسلوا رسائل الكراهية طوال الصيف. ولقد أثارت القصة استياء المنظمات أيضا إذ حظر اتحاد جنوب أفريقيا تداول هذه القصة. The story describes a fictional small American town which observes an annual tradition known as "the lottery," in which a member of the community is selected by chance and stoned. The preparations for and execution of the lottery are both described in detail. Readers' initial negative response surprised both Jackson and The New Yorker; subscriptions were canceled, and much hate mail was received throughout the summer of its first publication, while the Union of South Africa banned the story.
