The Stranger Within is a 1974 American made-for-television science fiction horror film that premiered as the ABC Movie of the Week on October 1, 1974. Written by Richard Matheson, and based on his 1953 novelette Trespass, it capitalized on Rosemary's Baby, but included a science-fiction twist which Matheson originated in the novelette but was popularized by John Wyndham in his 1957 novel The Midwich Cuckoos. The film was directed by Lee Philips and stars Barbara Eden and George Grizzard.
