Toshihiko Izutsu (井筒俊彦, Izutsu Toshihiko, 4 May 1914 – 7 January 1993) was a Japanese academic, philosopher of language and mysticism, translator, and scholar of Oriental studies specialized in Iranian and Islamic studies. He was a professor at Keio University in Japan and author of many books on Islam and other religions. Izutsu taught at the Institute of Cultural and Linguistic Studies at Keio University in Tokyo, the Iranian Research Institute of Philosophy in Tehran, and McGill University in Montreal, Quebec (Canada). He knew more than thirty languages, including Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Pali, Russian, Greek, and Chinese.
