- Tres Zapotes es un sitio arqueológico de Mesoamérica, situado en las tierras bajas del golfo de México en la llanura del río Papaloapan, ubicado en el municipio de Santiago Tuxtla, Veracruz. Tres Zapotes fue un importante sitio durante el apogeo de la cultura olmeca, contemporáneo a La Venta, y después se desarrollaron ahí las culturas epiolmeca y la cultura del centro de Veracruz. Una de las ciudades cercanas era La Venta, al sur y, al norte, Cempoala. La cultura olmeca se desarrolló desde el Preclasico alrededor del año 2500 a. C. al 400 a. C. (es)

Tres Zapotes is sometimes referred to as the third major Olmec capital (after San Lorenzo Tenochtitlán and La Venta), but the Olmec phase is only a portion of the site's history, which continued through the Epi-Olmec and Classic Veracruz cultural periods. Tres Zapotes, będące jednym z głównych ośrodków miejskich Olmeków (obok San Lorenzo Tenochtitlán i La Venta), zamieszkiwane było przez ponad dwa tysiąclecia (od 1500-1200 roku p.n.e. do 1000-1200 roku n.e.). Stanowisko obejmuje liczne kopce ziemne, pośród których odnaleziono kilkadziesiąt rzeźb, m.in. dwie 1,5-metrowe kamienne głowy oraz stelę C, na której wyryto datę odpowiadajacą 3 września 32 r. p.n.e. - Tres Zapotes é um sítio arqueológico mesoamericano situado nas terras baixas do centro sul da costa do golfo do México, na planície fluvial do rio Papaloapan. Tres Zapotes é por vezes considerado o terceiro sítio olmeca em termos de importância (depois de San Lorenzo e La Venta), apesar da fase olmeca de Tres Zapotes constituir apenas uma fracção da história deste sítio. A ocupação mais antiga ocorreu aproximadamente ao mesmo tempo que a de La Venta, mas existiu ainda uma ocupação pós-olmeca.
