The institution counts with over 109 laboratories, a start-up hatchery, a culture center, a hydro-meteorological information center, a Natural Science museum, a radio and TV station and an olympic stadium. In May 2014 it opened a cultural center, with a library and a theater for 1150 people. In 2013 Univates scored as the 4th best private university center (medium-sized higher education institutions) in Brazil according to MEC's General Courses Index (IGC). Considering both private university centers and private universities, Univates ranks as the 3rd best in South Brazil and 7th in Brazil, among the country's top 3.8% private higher education institutions. In 2015, CAPES selected a Univates project for research and innovation on Teacher Education among with 9 other in the whole country, with a grant of approximately R$1,700.000. A 2005 study showed that the institution has a significative impact on the economics of the city of Lajeado and the region, providing respectively 3.36% and 0.97% of the total amount of working places in that year. A Univates também tem polos de ensino a distância, além de oferta de outros serviços institucionais, nos municípios de Alvorada, Arroio do Meio, Arvorezinha, Bom Retiro do Sul, Carlos Barbosa, Cruz Alta, Encantado, Estrela, Guaporé, Montenegro, Porto Alegre, Serafina Corrêa, Soledade, Taquari, Teutônia, Venâncio Aires, Vera Cruz e Veranópolis. Além da estrutura do campus sede, na Avenida Avelino Talini, no Bairro Universitário, em Lajeado, a Univates oferece serviços em outros pontos da cidade. A Farmácia Escola é um prédio construído em parceria com o governo municipal, no Centro. Ainda no região central da cidade, a instituição mantém espaços nos andares superiores do Hospital Bruno Born (HBB) para atividades na área da saúde. Em Estrela, cidade vizinha, também funciona o Centro de Atendimento Materno-infantil (CAMI). A Univates é a realizadora do CRIExp. A primeira edição, que aconteceu em 2016, tornou o evento um dos maiores do sul do País. Foram 50 atividades em três dias de evento, e mais de 3,5 mil participantes. (pt)
