Velta Ruke-Dravina (Velta Rūķe-Draviņa; 25 January 1917 – 7 May 2003) was a Latvian-born Swedish linguist and folklorist, as well as a professor in Baltic languages at Stockholm University. Ruke-Dravina's research interests included children's language, language contact, and dialectology. Her doctoral thesis was about diminutives in Latvian. She held the only professorship in Baltic languages outside the Baltics and had a leading role in developing the teaching program on the subject at Stockholm University. In 1980, she was elected as a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities.

W latach 1938–1944 pracowała i wykładała na tejże uczelni. Piastowała stanowisko asystenta. Podczas swojej działalności naukowej opublikowała ponad 300 artykułów, a także szereg książek lingwistycznych. Laureatka licznych nagród i wyróżnień. (pl)

Rūķe-Draviņa växte upp i Lettland där hon läste baltisk filologi vid Lettlands universitet i Riga. Under andra världskriget bedrev hon doktorandstudier i jämförande indoeuropeisk språkforskning men fick inte slutföra dem då disputationer i detta ämne inte tilläts i det tyskockuperade Lettland. Hon arbetade en tid som lektor i fonetik och assistent till språkvetaren samt var engagerad i en rad projekt inom landsmåls- och ortnamnsforskningen vid Lettiska språkarkivet. (sv)
