The Via Campana (Italian - Via Antica Consolare campana) was one of the main roads of the Roman Empire. It begins at the Flavian Amphitheatre at Pozzuoli and ran through several ancient craters, passing the town of Qualiano and ending in Ancient Capua at junction with the via Appia. In XIX was created the New via Campana that has similar path but it ends at junction with the diramation of via Appia in the town of Giugliano.

| - La via Campana va ser una via romana que unia les ciutats de Puteoli i Càpua, a l'encreuament amb la via Àpia, passant per la ciutat de Qualiano i travessant en el seu curs alguns antics cràters volcànics. La via creua, a la vora de Puteoli, els cràters anomenats Quarto Flegreo propers a la ciutat de Quarto a la que donen nom, i puja a la Montagna Spaccata. Els romans van tallar la paret del cràter per obrir-se pas fins a l'altra banda i permetre que el camí pogués pujar suaument les vessants de la muntanya. Les lloses i els maons que els romans van posar per evitar el col·lapse de les parets del cràter es conserven encara en bon estat. També es poden veure diverses tombes romanes i necròpolis a tot el llarg del camí. (ca)

Situado a cuatro kilómetros de Pozzuoli, cruza los cráteres del Quarto Flegreo que dan su nombre a la ciudad cercana de Quarto y cruzan la Montagna Spaccata. Los romanos literalmente hicieron un corte a través de la pared del cráter para permitir que el camino pudiera cruzar al lado opuesto del mismo (donde el camino sube a lo largo de las laderas). El pasaje Montagna Spaccata está actualmente preservado y se utiliza como carretera principal dentro y fuera de la ciudad. Los ladrillos puestos por los romanos para evitar el colapso de la pared del cráter todavía se pueden ver en excelente estado de conservación a lo largo del camino. También se pueden apreciar a lo largo de la ruta varias catacumbas romanas y necrópolis. (es)

Four kilometres from Pozzuoli it crosses the craters of the Quarto Flegreo that give their name to the nearby town of Quarto and cross through the Montagna Spaccata, literally a cut through the wall of the crater made by the Romans to allow the road to cross to the opposite side of the crater (where the road climbs along the slopes instead). The Montagna Spaccata passage is now perfectly preserved and used as the main road in and out of the town. The bricks put in by the Romans to prevent the crater wall from collapsing can still be seen in excellent states of preservation all along the passage. Various Roman catacombs and necropolises can also be seen along the route. (en)

Cegły położone przez starożytnych Rzymian w celu umocnienia zboczy i zapobiegania obrywom są doskonale widoczne wzdłuż całego przejścia. Przy drodze znajdują się też katakumby i nekropolie rzymskie.
