William Landsborough (21 February 1825 – 16 March 1886) was an explorer of Australia and notably he was the first explorer to complete a North-to-South crossing of Australia. He was a member of the Queensland Legislative Council.

William Landsborough (21 février 1825 - 16 mars 1886), est un explorateur né dans le comté d'Ayrshire, en Écosse. Encore jeune, il immigre en Australie dans la colonie de Nouvelle-Galles du Sud. Quand de l'or est découvert en 1851, il devient prospecteur avec quelque succès. En 1853, il s'établit au Queensland et en 1859, il explore les affluents du Fitzroy avec . Des mauvaises saisons entraînent la perte de son exploitation. Il réalise quelques explorations, découvrant les sources des rivières (en) et (en). En août 1861, il prend en charge l'expédition de secours à Burke et Wills à partir du golfe de Carpentarie. (fr)
