Wiremu Te Tau Huata CBE QSO MC (23 September 1917 – 20 December 1991), was a New Zealand Anglican priest and military chaplain. Of Māori descent, he identified with the Ngati Kahungunu iwi. He was born in Mohaka, New Zealand, on 23 September 1917. He was chaplain to the 28th New Zealand (Maori) Battalion, which was part of the Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force (2NZEF) during World War II. He was awarded the Military Cross for his service in Italy.
