| - Xanthoria (terčovník) je rod lišejníků s lupenitou stélkou, která nebývá větší než 10 cm (často však i méně než 1 cm). Lupeny jsou poměrně úzké, většinou ne více než 1-3 mm. Svrchní kůra mívá odstín žluté či oranžové, vzácně do zelena nebo až bílá ve stínu. Oba povrchy – spodní i svrchní – jsou pokryté kůrou. Xanthoria se rozmnožuje sorediemi či (blastidie jsou kulovité fragmenty vznikající "pučením"). Spodní kůra bývá bílá, žlutá či oranžová, s rhiziny nebo s krátkými . Apothecia jsou lecanorovitého typu. Fotobiontem je řasa Trebouxia. (cs)
- Xanthoria ist eine Gattung lichenisierter Pilze (Flechten) aus der Familie der Teloschistaceae und gehört zu den Blattflechten (Flechten mit foliösen Thalli). Der Gattungstypus ist die Gewöhnliche Gelbflechte, Xanthoria parietina. Die mit der Gattung Xanthoria in Symbiose lebenden Algen gehören der Gattung Trebouxia an. Vertreter der Gattung sind auf der Nordhalbkugel der Erde verbreitet, Xanthoria parietina auch auf die Südhalbkugel durch menschlichen Einfluss verschleppt. Auch aufgrund ihrer hohen Schadstofftoleranz ist die in Deutschland heimische Xanthoria parietina sehr häufig und optisch auffallend, da sie selbst in Städten die Rinde lebender Bäume besiedelt und so für auffallend gelb gefärbte Äste sorgt. Det som ger vägglavarna deras färg är att de innehåller . Om vägglavar utsätts för kontakt med kalilut sker därför en reaktion som resulterar i att lavens bål färgas röd. Vägglavar är nära besläktade med orangelavar, släktet Caloplaca. (sv)
