Bashir Abdi (born 10 February 1989) is a Somali-born Belgian athlete who specializes in long-distance running. He won bronze medals in the marathon at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the marathon at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene. In doing so, Abdi became both the first ever Belgian world championship medal winner at the marathon and the first Belgian male athlete to win an individual medal at both the Olympic Games and the Athletics World Championships. Abdi was also the silver medalist at the 2018 European Championships in the 10,000 metres event. He is the current European record holder in the marathon, holds the other European best and two other Belgian records.
