Percy Bland is an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who served as the mayor of Meridian, Mississippi from 2013 to 2021. Under Bland's leadership, downtown Meridian was transformed into a vibrant space. From the Sela Ward project to the Highway 59/20 lighting project which was funded and supported by the State of Mississippi, his leadership paved the way for the city's future. Downtown businesses like Castle Pipeline established their new corporate headquarters in downtown Meridian, and because of the Go Cup Ordinance that allowed citizens to walk with an open container in a specific district of the downtown area more restaurants like the Three-foot Brewery were established.
