Pumbedita (sometimes Pumbeditha, Pumpedita, or Pumbedisa; Imperial Aramaic: פוּמְבְּדִיתָא Pūmbəḏīṯāʾ, "The Mouth of the River,") was an ancient city located near the modern-day city of Fallujah, Iraq. It is known for having hosted the Pumbedita Academy.
