The Bright Young Things, or Bright Young People, was a nickname given by the tabloid press to a group of Bohemian young aristocrats and socialites in 1920s London. They threw flamboyant fancy dress parties, went on elaborate treasure hunts through nighttime London, and some drank heavily or used drugs — all of which was enthusiastically covered by journalists such as Charles Graves and Tom Driberg. They inspired a number of writers, including Nancy Mitford (Highland Fling), Anthony Powell (A Dance to the Music of Time), Henry Green (Party Going), Dorothy Sayers (Murder Must Advertise), and the poet John Betjeman. Evelyn Waugh's 1930 novel Vile Bodies, adapted as the 2003 film Bright Young Things, is a satirical look at this scene. Cecil Beaton began his career in photography by documenting The Bright Young Things také Bright Young People, (v překladu mladí chytří lidé ) byla přezdívka daná bulvárním tiskem skupině bohémských anglických mladých aristokratů a jejich společnosti v Londýně 20. let 20. století.

The Bright Young Things také Bright Young People, (v překladu mladí chytří lidé ) byla přezdívka daná bulvárním tiskem skupině bohémských anglických mladých aristokratů a jejich společnosti v Londýně 20. let 20. století. Газета The Times задається питанням "Російська "золота молодь «- майбутній правлячий клас або клієнти реабілітаційних центрів», а Любов Аркус і Дмитро Биков писали в 1987 році: Bright Young Things (deutsch: helle junge Dinger; auch bekannt als Bright Young People, helle junge Leute) war eine Gruppe junger englischer Aristokraten und Bohemiens in der Zeit nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg. Nancy Mitford nahm sich in ihrem Roman Love in a Cold Climate (1949) Stephen Tennant als Vorbild, der „the brightest of the bright young things“ genannt wurde. Cecil Beaton began his career in photography by documenting this set, of which he was a member.
