The series primarily follows the St. Mariannu boys' basketball team led by the freshman Ogata Natsuki to defeat the prefecture's best team, Fujiwara Academy. This story takes place in the same universe as other Kouji Seo's works, including Suzuka, A Town Where You Live and Fuuka. Cross Over was serialized in the Japanese magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine published by Kodansha from 2002 to 2003 and compiled into seven bound volumes.
