Mezitím byl vrchním velitelem v Českém království (1791–1792). V armádě dosáhl hodnosti polního zbrojmistra (1789). Ze zdravotních důvodů odešel v roce 1794 do výslužby, zemřel v Praze, kde je také pohřben.
