Gabriel Malagrida (18 September or 6 December 1689 – 21 September 1761) was an Italian Jesuit missionary in the Portuguese colony of Brazil and influential figure in the political life of the Lisbon Royal Court who described the devastating 1755 Lisbon earthquake as retribution prompted by God's wrath. Malagrida was famously caught up in the Távora affair. When he could not be convicted for high treason, the Portuguese Prime Minister Sebastião José de Carvalho e Melo, Marquis of Pombal, whose brother served as the head Inquisitor, had him executed for heresy. Gabriel Malagrida, né à Menaggio (Italie) le 18 septembre 1689 et mort étranglé puis brûlé à Lisbonne le 21 septembre 1761, est un prêtre jésuite italien, missionnaire au Brésil et prédicateur de renom. Il fut exécuté par Pombal après un procès inique. Gabriel Malagrida (Menaggio, Milão, 18 de setembro de 1689 — Lisboa, 21 de setembro de 1761), nascido Gabriele Malagrida, foi um padre jesuíta italiano. Tendo sido missionário no Brasil e pregador em Lisboa, veio a ser condenado como herege no âmbito do Processo dos Távora. Foi garrotado e queimado na fogueira num auto-de-fé realizado no Rossio de Lisboa.
