Jacob Adam (9 October 1748 – 16 September 1811) was an Austrian copper etcher. Adam worked mainly for printing offices, but is best known for his small format portraits of which he created more than 100. He was born and died in Vienna. Adam created miniature portrait etchings of famous people of his day, including Charles-Joseph, 7th Prince of Ligne and the Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II; the latter etching is kept in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Jakob Adam (* 9. Oktober 1748 in Wien; † 16. September 1811 ebenda) war ein österreichischer Kupferstecher. Seit 1771 wurde er an der Kupferstecherakademie in Wien ausgebildet. Er hat viele Kupferstiche zu bekannten österreichischen Personen angefertigt, außerdem hat er viele Bilder für die Wiener Bilderbibel (1803) angefertigt. Jacob Adam (Vienna, 9 ottobre 1748 – 16 settembre 1811) è stato un incisore austriaco. Nel 1786 incise dei piccoli ritratti di personaggi illustri e viventi in Germania. Jacob Adam, né le 9 octobre 1748 à Vienne, et mort le 16 septembre 1811 dans sa ville natale, est un graveur sur cuivre autrichien.
