EUR dotiert ist, für die Erforschung der Geochemie von Sedimenten, 1995 die Logan Medal, die die höchste Ehrung der Geological Association of Canada ist, und 2000 den Bancroft Award für Beiträge zur Popularisierung geowissenschaftlicher Fragestellungen.
