Lors de l'ameublement de sa maison, Child devient le principal mécène du peintre flamand Old Nollekens. Il décède en mars 1750 à l'âge de 70 ans à Aix-en-Provence, en France, et est inhumé le 29 mai 1750 à Wanstead . In the furnishing of his mansion Child became the main patron of the Flemish painter Old Nollekens. He died in March 1750 aged 70 at Aix-en-Provence, France, and was buried on 29 May 1750 at Wanstead.
