Walker Spur (85°1′S 91°12′W / 85.017°S 91.200°W) is a notable rock spur forming the east side of Compton Valley in the north part of the Ford Massif, Thiel Mountains. The name was proposed by Peter Bermel and , co-leaders of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) Thiel Mountains party which surveyed these mountains in 1960–61. Named for Captain , United States Marine Corps (USMC), Squadron VX-6 pilot who made several flights in support of the USGS party in 1960–61. * v * t * e Der Walker Spur ist ein markanter Felssporn im westantarktischen Marie-Byrd-Land. Im nördlichen Teil des Ford-Massivs der Thiel Mountains bildet er die Ostwand des Compton Valley. Die Benennung erfolgte auf Vorschlag des Kartografen Peter F. Bermel und des Geologen Arthur B. Ford, die beide für den United States Geological Survey in den Jahren 1960 bis 1961 an der Erkundung der Thiel Mountains beteiligt waren. Namensgeber ist Captain Joseph G. Walker vom United States Marine Corps, Pilot der Flugstaffel VX-6 im Einsatz für diese Forschungsreise des Survey.
