El ballet comen\u00E7a i acaba amb una pilota de tennis que cau. Amb la primera, apareix un home i dues dones que la cerquen, a poc a poc comencen a jugar a petits jocs infantils, despr\u00E9s m\u00E9s ambigus i cada cop m\u00E9s sexuals. De sobte cau una altra pilota, que segurament s'ha escapat d'un altre partit de tennis, aix\u00F2 trenca l'encantament de la nit i alarma les tres persones que hi havia, que escapen de l'escenari. El tema del trio amor\u00F3s va ser escandal\u00F3s a la seva \u00E8poca, aix\u00ED com els moviments i la dansa, que continuava l'estil trencador que Nijinski ja havia proposat a la seva primera obra: La migdiada d'un faune. Mai abans s'havia fet un ballet basat en un triangle amor\u00F3s, i aix\u00F2 que en Nijinski en principi havia volgut que fos format per tres homes, cosa que en aquell moment li van censurar. Nijinski desitjava crear una dansa moderna que sab\u00E9s reempla\u00E7ar dr\u00E0sticament tot all\u00F2 que s'havia fet fins aleshores en mat\u00E8ria de ballet, constituint-la per ant\u00EDtesi directa amb les regles cl\u00E0ssiques, simplement capgirant-les, per\u00F2 sense haver creat pr\u00E8viament ni una pedagogia ni una ideologia."@ca . . . .
