Heesterman questo si spiegherebbe con la esclusione degli k\u1E63atriya dai rituali vedici prevista nei Br\u0101hma\u1E47a e, conseguentemente, il loro tentativo di acquisire lo stesso di uno status religioso segreto. Sempre per Heesterman gli \u0100ra\u1E47yaka rappresentano la \"giusta traccia\" per unire i Br\u0101hma\u1E47a alle Upani\u1E63ad, le quali si mostrano come espressione del \"guerriero-saggio\" nella sua contesa verbale (brahmodya) sul significato nascosto delle analogie cosmiche. In questo senso, spiega Gianluca Magi: Anche Mircea Eliade mette in evidenza l'allontanamento dall'aspetto concreto della rituali\u00E0 tipico dei Br\u0101hma\u1E47a (gli atti): \u00E8 infatti negli \u0100ra\u1E47yaka che acquista importanza la \u00ABcoscienza di S\u00E9\u00BB (praj\u00F1\u0101tman).
