He competed in the individual and team foil events at the 1972 Summer Olympics. He won a gold medal in epee at the 1967 Pan American Games. In 1969 he won the US national foil championship, and in Israel the 1969 Maccabiah Games sabre championship. He won a gold medal in foil at the 1971 Pan American Games. He is Jewish, and in 1990 he was inducted into the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
