"Video wall \u00E9 um equipamento que consiste em uma s\u00E9rie de monitores conectados fisicamente em arranjo, de modo a formar uma grande tela. Normalmente s\u00E3o compostos por pain\u00E9is de LCD ou LED. Dentre outras finalidades, os video walls s\u00E3o utilizados em salas de monitoramento e controle, publicidade e em shows. O display wall ou como \u00E9 mais comumente conhecido V\u00EDdeo Wall (parede de v\u00EDdeo), \u00E9 um sistema que pode ser composto de cubos de retroproje\u00E7\u00E3o, Monitores LCD ou LED profissionais, empilhados e enfileirados de maneira modular, formando uma \u00FAnica matriz de v\u00EDdeo. Inicialmente os retroprojetores para os cubos de V\u00EDdeo Wall vinham equipados com l\u00E2mpadas al\u00F3genas, onde a luz emitida pelo retroprojetor passava por um sistema de cores rotativo (roda-de-cores), gerando a luz vermelha, verde e azul onde estas direcionadas sobre o chip DMD, que atrav\u00E9s de seu micro-espelho reflete toda a luz para a tela do cubo. As diferentes densidades e tons de luz reproduzem mais de 16 milh\u00F5es de cores com resolu\u00E7\u00F5es que podem chegar at\u00E9 1920x1080p por cubo. O Sistema de V\u00EDdeo Wall baseado na tecnologia de retroproje\u00E7\u00E3o a l\u00E2mpada impressionava no in\u00EDcio de sua opera\u00E7\u00E3o, por\u00E9m al\u00E9m do alto custo de manuten\u00E7\u00E3o deste sistema onde havia necessidade de substitui\u00E7\u00E3o de rodas de cores, fontes e l\u00E2mpadas, havia ainda o grave problema da diferen\u00E7a de brilho em um mesmo painel, ou seja, cada cubo visualmente apresentava um brilho diferente. Isso ocorre, pois as l\u00E2mpadas apresentam desgastes de consumo diferente uma das outras. Este processo simplificou a constru\u00E7\u00E3o do painel de V\u00EDdeo Wall formado por cubos, eliminando a roda de cores e promovendo o processo por meio de algo parecido com um prisma, refletindo diretamente sobre o chip DMD e gerando as mais de 16 milh\u00F5es de cores. A pot\u00EAncia das l\u00E2mpadas de LED passou a ser controlada automaticamente por um sistema de gerenciamento embarcado mantendo todos os cubos de um painel de V\u00EDdeo Wall com o mesmo brilho e resolu\u00E7\u00E3o, mesmo ap\u00F3s anos de utiliza\u00E7\u00E3o. J\u00E1 presenciamos pain\u00E9is em opera\u00E7\u00E3o h\u00E1 dois anos com o mesmo aspecto de quando novo, sem que houvesse interven\u00E7\u00F5es para ajustes neste per\u00EDodo, ou seja, pode-se afirmar que agora os cubos de retroproje\u00E7\u00E3o s\u00E3o realmente equipamentos ideias para opera\u00E7\u00E3o 24\u00D77 por longos per\u00EDodos. Segundo os fabricantes, a l\u00E2mpada de LED tem vida \u00FAtil em opera\u00E7\u00E3o 24\u00D77 (24 horas x 7 dias por semana) por per\u00EDodo igual ou superior \u00E0 80.000 horas (entre 9 e 10 anos). Alguns estudos indicam que os novos Pain\u00E9is de V\u00EDdeo Wall com retroproje\u00E7\u00E3o LED apesar de terem seu start de compra mais elevado, podem trazer uma economia de aproximadamente 40% em 10 anos de opera\u00E7\u00E3o cont\u00EDnua. . A grande vantagem dos cubos, tanto os de l\u00E2mpadas al\u00F3genas ou de LED, \u00E9 a inexist\u00EAncia de bordas separando uma tela da outra em todas as dire\u00E7\u00F5es. Quando da jun\u00E7\u00E3o dos cubos para forma\u00E7\u00E3o de um painel de V\u00EDdeo Wall, a separa\u00E7\u00E3o das telas pode chegar em 0,2mm em alguns fabricantes, um pouco mais que um fio de cabelo. Isso permite que a imagem fique praticamente \u00FAnica sem qualquer interfer\u00EAncia sobre as mesmas. Surgiu tamb\u00E9m na mesma \u00E9poca as telas de LFD ou mais conhecidas por LCD Industrial para opera\u00E7\u00E3o continua 24\u00D77. No in\u00EDcio este produto encontrou rejei\u00E7\u00E3o pelo mercado especifico de Centros de Controle onde a exig\u00EAncia por equipamentos livre de bordas sempre foram elevados. O LCD Industrial de 42 polegadas com somat\u00F3ria de bordas de 22mm (2,2cm), era 11 vezes superior que a somat\u00F3ria da jun\u00E7\u00E3o dos cubos de retroproje\u00E7\u00E3o. Apesar do custo das telas serem mais atraentes, quando se pensava em montar um painel de LCD com a mesma \u00E1rea quadrada dos cubos, a solu\u00E7\u00E3o de LCD tornava-se invi\u00E1vel, pois necessitava de grande quantidade de monitores a mais do que os cubos e um gerenciador gr\u00E1fico com muito maior n\u00FAmero de sa\u00EDdas digitais, transformando a solu\u00E7\u00E3o muitas vezes com custo superior. Alguns meses depois surgiu um novo produto na linha de LCD Industrial, o LFD 46\u201D onde a somat\u00F3ria de bordas chegou aos incr\u00EDveis 7,2mm, pouco mais que meio cent\u00EDmetro. Com isso o V\u00EDdeo Wall (parede de v\u00EDdeo), fica perfeitamente alinhado. "A video wall is a special multi-monitor setup that consists of multiple computer monitors, video projectors, or television sets tiled together contiguously or overlapped in order to form one large screen. Typical display technologies include LCD panels, Direct View LED arrays, blended projection screens, Laser Phosphor Displays, and rear projection cubes. Jumbotron technology was also previously used. Diamond Vision was historically similar to Jumbotron in that they both used cathode-ray tube (CRT) technology, but with slight differences between the two. Early Diamond vision displays used separate flood gun CRTs, one per subpixel. Later Diamond vision displays and all Jumbotrons used field-replaceable modules containing several flood gun CRTs each, one per subpixel, that had common connections shared across all CRTs in a module; the module was connected through a single weather-sealed connector. Screens specifically designed for use in video walls usually have narrow bezels in order to minimize the gap between active display areas, and are built with long-term serviceability in mind. Such screens often contain the hardware necessary to stack similar screens together, along with connections to daisy chain power, video, and command signals between screens.
