Kalaat Beni Abbes (L-474) is an amphibious transport dock of the Algerian National Navy. The ship built by the Italian firm Fincantieri as an enlarged and improved version of the San Giorgio class. The ship measures 143 metres (469 ft) long and 21.5 metres (71 ft) wide. The ship has a continuous flight deck with two deck-landing spots for helicopters at the bow and stern.

| - قلعة بني عباس (474) هي سفينة إنزال ودعم لوجستي (BDSL)، تابعة للقوات البحرية الجزائرية، وهي أكبر سفينة حربية بحرية في تاريخ الجزائر، وتعد من أحدث السفن العسكرية المجهزة بأحدث التكنولوجيات العسكرية والبحرية والقادرة على العمل والتدخل على نطاق واسع في مهام عسكرية ولوجيستيكية وإنسانية، يمكن للسفينة أن تنفذ مهام قتال السفن، وأعمال القيادة والسيطرة لمجموعات العمل الجوية / البحرية المشتركة، وكذلك أعمال المراقبة، ومرافقة القوافل، ونقل القوات الخاصة وأعمال الإمداد للأسطول. بُنيت السفينة في ورشات شركة الهندسة والأنظمة البحرية الإيطالية «أوريزونتي سيستيمي نافالي» وهو فرع لعملاق الصناعات الحربية والبحرية الإيطالي فينكاتيري بمنطقة ريفا تريغوزو بمدينة لاسبيتسيا شمال غرب إيطاليا، وهي نسخة مُكبرة ومُحسنة للسفن البرمائية الإيطالية فئة سان جورجيو (classe San Giorgio). يبلغ طولها 143 متر والعرض 21.5 متر، وتصل إزاحتها إلى 9000 طن بكامل حمولتها، وتصل سرعتها 20 عقدة وذلك بفضل اثنين من محركات الديزل بمدى يبلغ 6000 ميل بحري بسرعة اقتصادية. سطح السفينة يحتوي على مقصورة القيادة وبقعتين مهيأتان لاستقبال وهبوط المروحيات من الأمام ومن الخلف. Ordered in 2011, the ship was commissioned by the Algerian National Navy on 4 September 2014. The first official docking - and commissioning ceremony - was on 28 March 2015 in the presence of the Chief of Staff of the ANP and the High Command of the Algerian National Navy. (en)
