- Doune Castle is a medieval stronghold near the village of Doune, in the Stirling council area of central Scotland and the historic county of Perthshire. The castle is sited on a wooded bend where the Ardoch Burn flows into the River Teith. It lies 8 miles (13 kilometres) northwest of Stirling, where the Teith flows into the River Forth. - Zamek Doune – twierdza z drugiej połowy XIV wieku blisko wioski Doune, w hrabstwie Stirling w centralnej Szkocji. Zamek mieści się w odnodze rzek Ardoch i Teith, naprzeciwko mostu prowadzącego do wioski. Leży 8 km na północny zachód od Stirling, gdzie rzeka Teith wpływa do rzeki Forth. Doune jest wyjątkowy wśród szkockich zamków, gdyż został zbudowany w jednym okresie i przetrwał kompletny i prawie niezmieniony po dzień dzisiejszy. Jego budowę rozpoczął pod koniec XIV w. Robert Stewart książę Albany (c.1340–1420), syn króla Roberta II szkockiego, regent Szkocji od 1388 do jego śmierci. W 1425 zamek został własnością korony i był używany jako zamek myśliwski lub uposażenie królewskich wdów. W końcu XVI w. stał się własnością Parów Moray (Earls of Moray).
